Virginia’s Story

Born in Devon, England in 1976, Virginia had an early urge to draw and sculpt things of surreal and fantastical nature. This led her to study Art and Design at Exeter College and then a degree in Illustration at Kingston University. Shortly after graduation in 199, she was fortunate enough to work as a sculptor for the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy in New Zealand, creating architectural details, fountains, and statues for the sets. When the films productions finished, she went on to sculpt highly detailed, collectible wall plaques of scenes from the films.

These days, she divides her time between Dartmoor and West Sussex, mainly focusing on her illustrations, as well as painting and sculpting for exhibitions. Most of her work over the last few years has been for children’s books.
